Join us for two practical, hands-on days designed to give you a real taste of carpentry and the confidence to get on the tools. This isn't a workshop where you spend two days sitting and listening. You'll be in the workshop measuring, cutting, drilling, fixing and building as you learn practical carpentry skills under the guidance of an experienced industry trainer.

02 — What you'll do
Learn by building.
Over two practical days, you'll learn how to:
- Measure and mark timber accurately
- Work with timber and construction materials
- Select the right tools for different tasks
- Safely use a range of hand and power tools
- Cut, drill, fix and assemble timber
- Follow a practical project from start to finish
- Develop confidence working in a carpentry workshop
- Put your new skills into practice by building your own timber project

03 — PROFESSIONAL TOOLS

The workshop is proudly powered by DEWALT, giving participants the opportunity to train using professional tools and equipment in NSWIET's purpose-built carpentry workshop.
You'll learn how different tools are selected for the job, how they're checked before use and how to operate them safely before putting those skills into practice under supervision.

04 — Recognised outcome
Nationally recognised training.
This workshop includes practical training and assessment delivered by NSW Institute of Education & Training (NSWIET), RTO 45501.
Participants who successfully complete all required training and assessment requirements will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the unit/s completed.
You'll walk away with more than an experience. You'll gain practical skills and, if assessed as competent, a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment, with the unit completed potentially contributing towards CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry through credit transfer.

Future apprentices
Build confidence with tools, timber and workshop practices before entering the industry. Get a head start by successfully completing a nationally recognised unit and receiving a Statement of Attainment, which may be eligible for credit transfer towards CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry.
