Licensing
A White Card (also known as a General Construction Induction Card) is required for anyone carrying out construction work in NSW, as specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2007). Domestic Students Entry Requirements | Students will need moderate to high levels of English language, literacy and numeracy (LLN). Students will also need to be able to competently operate a computer and know how to use the internet for research purposes. A good command of spoken and written English is required for communicating with the trainer and to achieve course outcomes. A strong command of written English is required for reading resources and completing written assessments. |
International Student Entry Requirements | Students must be over 18 years of age. Student visa applicants are required to provide the results of an English language test that are no older than 2 years. We accept test results from the following specified English language tests for student visa purpose taken in any country:

Other Requirements | Students are required to provide their own laptop computer that is compatible with Australian power voltage requirements and is loaded with Microsoft Office 365 software or Open Office 365 (open source). Sound computer skills are required that include using intermediate level Microsoft Word features. Ability to produce and present word-processed documents/ reports and undertake internet research. As part of the learning cycle students may be required to undertake online research or activities each week in class during term time. |
The Course Facts.
Qualification Structure and Duration
Duration:
104 weeks (2 years) – 80 weeks of training and assessment spread over 8 terms of 10 weeks each and 24 weeks of holidays.
Sessions are trainer-led in-group sizes of up to 20 participants. The training program is undertaken using a planned schedule in accordance with national standards.
Pre-Enrolment Interview
A pre-enrolment interview will be conducted with the CEO/Academic manager or their delegate, to access your suitability and capacity to undertake the course.
Delivery Mode And Location
Students will attend Face-to-face training, as well as complete workshop-based training. Face to Face training comprises of students attending 7 hours weekly sessions at our facility and 7 hours weekly session in the workshop or onsite at a construction site. In addition, students will be required to undertake 6 hours of self- study. This program is delivered in the classroom, factory or onsite, and through structured self study. Homework is expected to be approximately 2 hours a week. Practical face to face training is provided in a practical facility and/or on construction sites. Work placement is optional.

The course will be delivered in 8 terms over a two year period.
Course Timetable
The units of competency to be delivered each term will be provided on orientation day. As this course is a nationally recognised qualification, you will be required to complete assessments for each unit of competency.
Following the completion of each topic and unit of competency you will have additional assessment tasks due 2 weeks after the completion of each unit. Assessment due dates are given to students at the beginning of each term and unit commencement.
The term break can also be used to provide additional learning support for any students at risk. Evidence collected will comply with the rules of evidence.
